Flying with Dog

This is the one of the dresses I received as payment for camping out on a sewing machine for an hour and half. It was worth it this is so lovely and can be worn all winter. Or for that matter anytime you want since there are no real seasons in cyber space.
My traveling companion is Knine, a cute lil Corgi Puppy from AFI. She had not completely rezzed yet, but can TP with the owner. Each pet comes with a HUD control panel, center. Along, with a lease, pet food and bowl and a dog bath. This is the most clever pet I have besides my horse.
They travel, and when they hug you they fly through the air to land on your shoulder.
Everyone and all creatures of SL evidentally can fly.
I love these animals so much I had to get another so I have a gaggle of corgwin and each has their own little houses. They snore when they sleep on their backs and emit little "z's". This is so cute. They have a web site with instructions and provisions for lost dogs.

Camping & Sewing

Since SL once again is down and I can not log in, this seemed like a good time for a new blog entry. I have never camped before, but I loved these dresses. While on the Peace On Earth Hunt I ran into a girl wearing the Blue Snow Flake version and this was one of the stops on the trip. The dresses were not for sale. However, if you camped at a sewing machine for 30 minutes you could get a FREE dress. It took me an hour and half to get each of these lovely new gowns. I wore my glasses, a fat pack of all colors, to help sew a straight seam. The hair is Una by Bewitched and I had to have every color of this hair as well.

SL has been so lag ridden, it took nearly the hour and half to fully rez at this store.

R is for Rocket

Mouse view as I am blasting off into SL outer space. I stumbled upon this amusement park a few weeks ago. It sure was great fun.

As I am afraid of heights in real life, Second Life allows me to try many things I would never dream of doing. More likely it would be a nightmare in real life to find myself on a rocket.

I only hope that LL policies on Open Sims will not destroy these types of wonders.

Eye Spy

Going on a Treasure Hunt, X marks the spot. Treasure Quest is one of the best groups going in Second Life. Every two weeks a new hunt begins. The quality of clues are excellent puzzlers. My first hunt took me 2 days to find the next clue. I am much better now and even have a special pair of glasses. Rhea Newall of Ribbons and Roses, R&R Land Holdings, !! Ribbons & Roses, Sinners Isle (210, 127, 23) and her Captains are all the greatest bunch of people.

Lots of fun and great laughs. You will find plenty of pirates, lots of treasure and probably no ninja turtles.

Flying Again

This was a fun sim that was all tropical landscaping. When you Tp in you find yourself on top of a mountain.

Transport is waiting with a hang glider. This is something I would never do in real life or in a skirt!

While flying around I was in a number of IM and before I knew it I had crash landed. Evidentally chat and flying are not safe at any speed. I had hit a blue wall between sims.

Stay tuned in, I never know where I will turn up next.

Up, Up and Away

Gpsy Falls sent me this fun pretty red balloon. Opening my inventory I clicked on wear and thought; "oh how cute a balloon".

As I walked I found myself in lift off, going higher and higher and higher. I wondered if it is possible to float off a sim and travel to another land. Perhaps this has a homing device or script since I circled around my home land in lovely Salutirus. Up and around in the clouds hanging onto my beautiful balloon for my dear second life.
What a great gag gift. Gypsy has all kinds of fun things and great inventions at his gadget store.

That made me wonder how high could you actually fly? Would it be possible to hit a ceiling? A search at the Wiki yielded no fast answers. The only way to land was to let go and fall. Good thing my pixels bounce!

On The Road

What better way to start out my new blog than with a picture on my friend Pearlys' motorcycle. He has a great store for building supplies and a fun club, Calypso.

In Second Life you can walk, run, fly, or teleport as methods of conveyance. My primary travel is via TP since very few Sims are interconnected. Also, I do not own a car, boat, or helicopter.

There are a reported 12 Million plus members in Second Life and 65,000 acres on the grid. I heard an interview on Coast to Coast with the, Philip Linden as my first introduction to Second Life. I joined as a free member and bumbled around for a few months. I still walk into walls, get stuck in corners and land in water, but am glad to be quick dry!

After reading Snow Crash, which combined the internet and ancient Sumerian history two of my many favorite interests, it came together for me that Second Life is like myspace on steroids.

I have been in Second Life for 9 months and started out like most newcomers struggling to get off of the newcomer main land. The first task was to make a chainmail shirt which seemed like such a silly thing to do with so many other fashion choices.

I have not looked back since that first most difficult TP. The chainmail shirt is probably buried in my inventory gathering pixel dust. Hope you join me for my trip across the metaverse. The fun is in the journey not the destination.
